It was Parent/Senior Night at Hondo High School, as Senior Guard Colleen Moss waved to the crowd during the pre-game ceremony.
And this battle for the 29-3A district title was one of the best games of the year, as Hondo defeated Lytle 52-51 in double overtime. Hondo and Lytle finished the regular season tied for fitst place.
Colleen Moss, led the Owls with 17 points including the game winning shot shown here. Moss also shined on defense as she held Lytle’s leading scorer, Cheyenne Berry to 21 points.

It was a battle of District 29-3A unbeatens, as both Lytle and Hondo came into Friday’s game state-ranked.
Lytle’s girls remained unscathed afterwards, defeating Hondo 62-49 at Lytle’s home gym. The victory gives Lytle sole possession of first place.

#7 team in state closes with 11-2 run in 60-47 victory
The state-ranked Lytle Lady Pirates were getting all they could handle at Pearsall, leading only 49-45 with 5:02 remaining in the game.
Then Cheyenne Berry led her team on a 9-0 run, scoring the last seven points herself, and Lytle escaped with a 60-47 victory Tuesday night at Pearsall High School.
